Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace . . . One School at a Time
combines adventure with a celebration of the humanitarian spirit. This book glimpses into the culture and political strife in Pakistan and Afganisthan through the eyes of a man committed to helping the people who helped him after his climb on K-2 went awry. Greg Mortenson obviously has great love and respect for the people of Pakistan, their traditions, their culture, and humanity -something we don't learn much about in the headliness of the western media-. This book also provided a glimpse of the various factions that are in play in the region.
